This market house style courthouse was commission by lady Ann Wandesforde, Dowager Countess of Ormond to a design by Henry Aaron Baker (1753-1836).
Having served Castlecomer in various judiciary and commercial capacities over the years, its octagonal cupola dovecote on the roof is an iconic part of the town’s streetscape.
